The story of Uzair (as) and the donkey king

Uzair (AS) is a virtuous man of the Children of Israel, whether he is a prophet or not. However, the famous opinion is that he is a prophet of God.

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (R) in the Sunan Abu Dawood that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “I do not know whether Tubba is cursed; Or not. I do not know what the prophet of Uzair is; Not a prophet. ”

After knowing the condition of the Tubba community, they have been quoted-

Sheikh Abbad said:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said this before knowing their (Tubba community) condition. Since the tradition is that the Tubba community has embraced Islam. So they are not cursed. On the other hand, there is no tradition as to whether Uzair (AS) was a prophet or not.

But in his case, there is no problem to say, because he was a good man. And his story is mentioned in the Quran. Many scholars have considered him a prophet. Whatever the description, there is no doubt that he was God's beloved servant.

The incident is in the language of the Quran-

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): Have you not seen the man who passed by a town whose houses were broken down and fell on the roof? He said, "How can Allah raise him from the dead?" Then God made him die a hundred years. Then picked him up. Said, how long have you been like this? Said I was one day or a little less than a day. Said, it is not; Rather, you were a hundred years old. Now look at your food and drink - they have not rotted and look at your donkey. And I wanted to make you an example for people. And look at the bones, how I put them together and put a covering of flesh on them. Then, when it was revealed to him, he said: "I know that Allah has power over all things."

Detailed facts

Uzair (AS) was passing through the said village after a person named ‘Bukhtanassar’ destroyed it. At that time the village was a wasteland, there was no one in it. Thinking about the current state of the village, he said: "How can God revive it after death (destruction)?" He said this because of the horrors of destruction and desolation and the difficulty of returning to the former state. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): "Then Allah put him to death for a hundred years." In the meantime, the city has been revived, the people have become people, and the Israelites have returned to this city. Then, when God revived him, he first revived his two eyes so that he could see God's creative power, how God revives his body. When his formation was complete, Allah said to him - that is, through the angels - "How long have you been like this?" He said, "A day or a little less than a day." The commentators say: Since he died in the first part of the day; And he was resurrected at the end of the day. When he saw that there was still the sun, he thought it was the sun of that day. So, he said: "Less than a day." Now look at your food and drink, they are unaltered. " It is narrated that he was accompanied by grapes, tween fruits, and sherbet. He found them just as he had left them. No change. The sherbet that was with him was not spoiled, the grapes did not rot, and the smell did not smell. "And look at your ass." That is, look and see how Allah revives it before your eyes. "I wanted to make you an example for people." That is, I wanted to make evidence in favor of revival. "Look at the bones, how do I connect them" means I connect one bone with another. Make a donkey skeleton by placing each bone in its place; There was no meat in it. Then he put meat, nerves, veins, and skin on this bone. He did all this in front of the eyes of Uzair (AS). Thus, when everything became clear to him, he said, "I know that Allah has power over all things." That means I have seen it carefully. Of all the people of my time, I know best.
